Post Adoption Communication

Mediation Services and Routed Correspondence Program: Involved parties can choose to send correspondence through our agency if they wish to keep identifying information confidential, but still wish to have contact with the other party.

Mediation services provide an opportunity for there to be appropriately monitored communication between birth family and an adoptive family. Open adoptions have become widespread throughout the nation since the 1990’s and grow increasingly more common each year.

At Christian Family Adoptions, because each adoption is unique, we tailor the mediation to meet the individual needs of each family. When dealing with post-adoption communication it is important to provide a plan that is comfortable for all parties involved. We provide assistance with routing correspondence, gifts, and setting up visitations throughout the duration of the adoption. All communication is mediated by our agency for the purpose of keeping identifying information confidential. We require that each mediation case provide us with a copy of a post-adoption communication agreement drafted by a licensed mediator or an attorney.

If you would like to receive mediation services, you must:

Provide a signed copy of your Post-Adoption Communication Agreement - Our agency requires a copy of your post-adoption communication agreement that is signed by all parties involved in the communication plan. If you do not have a copy signed by all, we will work directly with your attorney or mediator to obtain this document.

Enclose a check or money order payable to "Christian Family Adoptions" in the amount of $500.00 for our standard Mediation Services. Additional services can be added for an additional fee, please indicate additional services on your Service Request Form.
