Christian Family Adoptions

At Christian Family Adoptions, we are committed to helping those in the adoption triad (adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents) who have worked with us in the past. Christian Family Adoptions offers various services to those involved in past adoptions through our agency including:

We also offer a unique Mediation and Routed Correspondence Program available to any adoptive family in an open adoption who wishes to use our services.

Birth Certificates: An adoptee who is 21 years or older may obtain a copy of his/her birth certificate by calling the Oregon Bureau of Vital Statistics at (971) 673-1190, or going to www.vitalrec.com/or.html. Birth certificates cost $20.00.

Pre-Adoption Birth Certificate: In 2000 Oregon voters passed Measure 58 which allows adult adoptees to access their Pre-Adoption Birth Certificate. If you are 21 and were born in Oregon you can also obtain a copy of your pre-adoptive/original birth certificate through Oregon Vital Statistics at (971) 673-1190. You can also visit the following for more details information, www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/CHS/preadopt.shtml

Non-Identifying Information: Persons eligible under Oregon law may request Non-Identifying Information regarding their adoption. This is a basic report of information gathered from the file. Non-Identifying Information includes: physical description, occupation, general area of residence, medical, social and genetic history, age, personality traits, etc. Click here to visit our Non-ID Information page.

Voluntary Registry: Many times adoptees and birth parents and adult genetic siblings wish to find and communicate with each other after the adoptee becomes an adult. The Voluntary Adoption Registry is a tool for people over the age of 18 who are interested in exchanging identifying information. When a person registers we will check our records to see if the other party has also registered. If both parties are registered, then we will have a "match." Once a match has occurred, Christian Family Adoptions will contact both parties and assist in sharing identifying information.

Assisted Searches: If a person has registered with the registry and there has been no "match" they may choose to pursue an assisted search. In an assisted search, various resources are utilized to locate the person.  We then contact the person to see if they are interested in registering for the Voluntary Adoption Registry. If the person chooses to register, we facilitate an exchange of information and contact if both parties choose. If the person declines, they are not contacted again.
